1. The glue, or lacking knowledge on how to properly use the eyelash extension glue, that is.⠀
2. Cleanliness of natural lashes prior to application.
If your natural lashes aren’t squeaky clean prior to eyelash extensions application, whether it’s a full set or a lash refill, the lash glue will not be able to adhere. Instead, the glue will only stick to that dirt, build up, and makeup residue and and most lashes will fall off within 2-7 days.
3. Base attachment, or improper attachment should I say.⠀
If the extensions are not properly attached to the natural lash, they will not last! Why? Even tho extensions are very light, they are pretty heavy when you consider that they are only supported by teeny tiny natural lashes. So, they need to be properly bonded on, in order to survive all the “abuse” the clients put their lashes through, such as vacations, sleeping on them, rubbing them, makeup, etc.
In this pic, you can see the work of one of my student's during training. We not only learn how to make fans, but how to make sure that they are properly attached to the natural lash.⠀
Or in this case, to another fan. ⠀
This is an amazing exercise I love making my students do! It's a bit challenging at first, but it also gets them used to the real life. You get to practice wrist movement, angling and hand positioning to the point that once you get a real life human, you’re on a roll!⠀
If you’re having issues with placing fans on natural lashes, try this technique and let me know how it goes!⠀
